Portable USB applications
What are portable applications and how are they useful?
A portable application is software installed on portable media (usb drive, portable drive, iPod, CD Rom) that you can bring with you to use on a client computer. This allows you to run your applications via a removable device and then save your personal settings and work back to the removable device. This can be beneficial because no personal data is left behind on the client computer your running your apps on.
During my search for portable applications, I’ve encountered a nice site located here: http://portableapps.com/ These portable applications have been put together by John Haller and are all free to download and use.
