There have been many rumors floating around that the “Cash for Clunkers Stimulus” program has been Suspended. It was estimated that roughly 250,000 people have been able to take advantage of the 1 billion dollar Cash for Clunkers trade in incentive. Lawmakers are pressing to add another 2 billion dollars to keep the Cash for Clunkers program alive after the influx of demand exhausted most of the first billion dollars.
Cash for Clunkers Stimulus package was created in an attempt to to help remove old polluting automobiles from the streets and replace them with new more efficient vehicles. Moreover, the Cash for Clunkers Stimulus package assists in stimulating new car sales here in the USA. The program will run through November 1st 2009 or when the funds are exhausted. In my opinion, it’s an intuitive and positive idea.
B5 Blue 2009 Challenger: With the intense popularity of the recently released 2008 Dodge Challenger, Dodge has decided to take things a step further and release a limited 2009 “Challenger R/T Classic Package“. The Challenger Classic R/T Package, available in early spring of 2009, has been noted to include the retro B5 Blue exterior color option. B5 was a popular exterior color back in the early 70’s and has recently been available on current Dodge vehicles including the Super Bee Charger.
The 2008 Chevy Camaro shares many of the retro styling aspects currently found in the 2005 Ford Mustang and soon to be released 2008 Dodge Challenger. It has been mentioned that the 2008 Chevy Camaro is going to closely resemble it’s classic 67-69 era ancestor. From the pictures and footage, one would have to agree.
For most classic car enthusiasts, the new 2007-2008 Dodge Challenger concept car might currently resemble the closest thing to going back in time. In my opinion it resembles it’s classic ancestor the 70’s era Challenger much better than any other car manufacturer has recently done in the area of retro styling.
