Cash For Clunkers Stimulus
Cash for Clunkers Stimulus package was created in an attempt to to help remove old polluting automobiles from the streets and replace them with new more efficient vehicles. Moreover, the Cash for Clunkers Stimulus package assists in stimulating new car sales here in the USA. The program will run through November 1st 2009 or when the funds are exhausted. In my opinion, it’s an intuitive and positive idea.
How Cash for Clunkers Stimulus works:
In a nutshell, you trade your old car in toward the purchase of a new one (MSRP $45,000 or less). You will receive $3,500 or $4,500 towards your new car, in addition to any other incentives or discount the dealer or the auto manufacturer is offering.
The car that you are getting rid of must be more than eight years old, but less than twenty five years old and get a combined average MPG of less than 18 according to the EPA (usually listed on the Window Sticker). The car will be junked after you have traded it in, it can not be resold for street use. The scrap price will be added to your discount toward the purchase of the new car.
